Lin Xiaoman, a socially awkward baking club wallflower, had her healing cake for her sick best friend knocked over by school heartthrob Lu Xingye's skateboard at the school gate. She expected a bully-like刁难, but instead, Lu squatted down to pick up the cake crumbs and handed her a note blushing: "I'll赔 you ten, add WeChat for custom flavors." What's more, Lu started "flaunting his presence" in creative ways: hot cocoa in the morning, helping her knead dough at club, even holding her cookie and shouting "This is the sweetest candy I've ever had" when she was attacked by rumors. Until Xiaoman saw Lu holding the stray cat she saved at a cat café—turns out, half a year ago on a rainy night, when she wrapped the wet cat in her coat, Lu was standing behind her, secretly taking a photo of her back.
