Lin Xiaoman, a chef in a Northeast Chinese town, takes a job—helping 'bankrupt rich kid' Jiang Ye pretend to be a 'successful man who understands Northeast New Year vibes' to pass his grandpa's New Year's Eve test—all to save her grandma's old restaurant 'Fulaishun'. From bickering 'You’re faking it' to making stewed pork, pasting couplets, and chatting with neighbors, Jiang Ye falls for the earthly warmth. Xiaoman soon learns his 'bankruptcy' is a lie—he’s been searching for someone who values ordinary joy. On New Year’s Eve, Jiang Ye offers to redeem the restaurant with a property deed, but Xiaoman refuses: 'I don’t want money—I want us to hold onto this warmth together.' In the end, they turn the old restaurant into a 'New Year Flavor Museum', becoming a town-famous hit, sweet enough to warm the soul.
