When the Crown Prince comes to arrest him for "rebellion," Li Zhao pulls out the ledger of the Crown Prince's embezzled military funds and sends him to prison. Meanwhile, Su Wan, a small doctor he meets in the fief, goes from despising him as "useless" to shielding him from knives and giving advice—they grow closer. In the end, Li Zhao becomes a wise emperor loved by the people for his good governance, while the once-arrogant Crown Prince ends up as his "loser."
