Shen Zhaozhao, daughter of a censor, whose family was massacred by the powerful Prime Minister Chu, takes the alias "Lantern Slave" and infiltrates the Prince Regent's mansion. With her unique skill of making floating lamps that carry wishes into the sky, she approaches Gu Yanzhi, the cold and ruthless Prince Regent, aiming to use his power for revenge. However, Gu shows her unusual tolerance—he早就 saw through her identity but secretly covers her tracks, even clashing with Chu directly to protect her. When Chu's conspiracy is exposed, Shen realizes her revenge has long been hidden in Gu's "protection": he wants not just justice, but to illuminate the power-corrupted court with her using floating lamps. Caught between revenge and true love, they write a love story more dazzling than the lamps, and find the most passionate answer between the country and their deep affection.
