Su Xiaotang, a renowned jianghu thief, steals ill-gotten gains from corrupt officials with her adopted cute son Xiaodouzi. She accidentally offends Crown Prince Gu Jingzhao by taking the "official silver" he planned for disaster relief—which turns out to be embezzled by corrupt officials. Gu swears to catch this "audacious thief," but every pursuit fails: Xiaodouzi pretends to be helpless yelling "Mommy save me," Su uses traps to escape, or even helps Gu expose corrupt plots. As they interact, Gu discovers Su is the surviving Princess Qinghe of the previous dynasty, whose family was wrongfully executed; she steals to gather evidence to clear her name. Su also sees Gu’s devotion to the people, and they shift from cat-and-mouse to allies. Xiaodouzi always says "Daddy should fight bad guys with Mommy," adding sweet moments. When the truth comes out, Gu faces a choice between the throne and love—will he give up the crown for Su, or protect the world together?
