Shen Qingchuan, heir to a general's family, survives a massacre of his entire clan—framed by treacherous officials—because he was away studying. Burdened with deep vengeance, he starts as a down-and-out scholar selling calligraphy on the streets, secretly plotting his revenge: investigating the truth behind his family's death while using his wits to defuse court crises, gradually rising to become the 'Hidden Prime Minister' with unmatched power. Along the way, he meets Su Wantang, daughter of a powerful minister. This seemingly delicate woman harbors great wisdom; she not only helps him see through the enemy's schemes but also stays by his side when he's at his lowest. When the truth is uncovered, the mastermind is none other than the emperor himself? Shen Qingchuan must overthrow the throne to avenge his family, yet protect his deep love with Su Wantang. Can he balance revenge and love, and rewrite his fate against all odds?
