Su Wanwan, the top matchmaker in the folk, is forced to arrange a marriage for the "wife-killing" Northern Prince Shen Yanzhi after offending a powerful figure. But every bride she finds either falls ill suddenly or runs away overnight. Unexpectedly, Shen Yanzhi starts pestering her: "Since no one dares to marry me, why don't you do it yourself?" Su Wanwan thinks it's a prank—until she sees him take an assassin's sword for her, and when a palace coup breaks out, he holds her on the dragon throne: "This kingdom was always a betrothal gift for you." It turns out, from the first time she tried to match him with someone else, he'd already "pulled" his fate to her.
