Su Wan, a low-ranking palace maid, accidentally conceives the emperor Gu Zhaoheng's child after a drunken misidentification, only to be framed by the empress as a “seductor of the sovereign” and exiled with her son Luo'er. Three years later, Luo'er's “innate heterochromatic eyes” are deemed a “national destiny omen” by the imperial astrologer, prompting the emperor to secretly search for his mother. When the down-and-out Su Wan is brought back to the palace, she faces the empress's schemes, court officials' condemnation, and Gu Zhaoheng's guilt hidden beneath his coldness—turns out the “mistake” was his deliberate protection, and Luo'er's existence has long tied into the game of the empire. Will she forgive the emperor's隐忍, or flee the palace with her son? As truth and affection shatter power struggles, can this mother and son hold onto each other, and win back the emperor's belated true love?
