Empress Shen Zhaotang is framed by traitors and forced into seclusion to heal. To hide the truth, she asks her childhood guard Gu Hanchuan to impersonate her. Gu, who only wants to protect her, is forced to wear the dragon robe—fighting with cunning ministers to eliminate rebels while secretly sending tonics to the secluded empress. Shen reads Gu's reports in her chamber, watching the cold guard turn into a腹黑 "fake emperor," and realizes the man behind her has long given her his whole heart. On the day she emerges, Gu is pressed by ministers about "when the empress will choose a consort." She lifts the curtain, smiles, and hands him the imperial seal: "How about I make you my consort instead?"
