Poor fishing village youth Ashou, who sticks to his ancestral broken net for a living, is mocked by the whole village as a good-for-nothing loafer. Even his childhood sweetheart Azhi is persuaded by her family to marry a wealthy fisherman from the neighboring village. On a rainy morning, he hauls ashore with his broken net and catches a wild giant croaker worth millions. This fish makes him the village's envied gold carp, and also attracts a wealthy aquatic trade lady who has secretly loved him for years, coming to confess her love directly. The exciting counterattack lies in the accident of the giant croaker in the broken net, and the sweet warmth comes when the village's prejudice shatters.
