Mysterious painter Jiang Xubai is drawn into a conspiracy over a前朝 treasure due to his family heirloom painting *Moonfall Stars*—which hides a code to a treasure powerful enough to overthrow the court, attracting deadly assassins. When he's cornered, he meets Shen Xingyao, a general's daughter: this 'tough lady' who wields a sword to steal the painting is actually investigating her father's disappearance. From bitter rivalry to forced partnership, they crack the painting's mechanisms while evading pursuit, and slowly fall for each other.
