Chen Mo, a 28-year-old doormat at an ad agency, has lived a loser’s life until he finds an old phone—snapping a photo of a client signing a deal actually lands him the impossible contract; taking a pic of a date with his crush Su Xiao makes her ask him out. But the more he uses it, the creepier it gets: after each shot, an uninvited photo appears—his overtime pic has a shadowy duplicate in the background; his date pic shows Su Xiao wearing his mom’s missing necklace. When he finally snaps a “wedding photo” with Su Xiao, the phone pops up a blood-red message: “Wish granted, price: your real self.” That’s when Su Xiao breaks down, showing him a photo of her brother—who looks exactly like Chen Mo—and the note: “7th user, assimilated.”
