Shen Wanyi, the Shen family's daughter whose property was seized by her uncle and whose father died wrongfully, disguises herself as an ordinary white-collar worker to infiltrate a rival company for revenge. Lu Zhaonian, a former investment genius who went bankrupt due to framing and whose father jumped to his death, hides his identity and becomes an underground information dealer to clear his name. They cross paths during a commercial espionage operation and initially use each other to extract revenge clues. However, through repeatedly facing crises side by side, they uncover the fragility beneath each other's masks—she cries red-eyed at night clutching her father's old watch, while he squats in front of his father's grave on a stormy day, reading an unsent letter. When they discover the masterminds behind their tragedies are the same clique, they confront the cruelest choice: continue shielding themselves with hatred, or let go of their obsessions and walk toward a brighter future with the one person who truly understands them?
