On the rainy night when the Northern Marquis Mansion was massacred, Su Wanwan was saved by a figure in green and became the disciple of Rong Zhan, the "lazy Taoist" of Qingqiu Mountain. Rong Zhan taught her military strategy and hidden weapons but never talked about his past. When Wanwan secretly investigated the massacre, she found all clues leading to "Lord Dingqiankun"—the man who helped the emperor ascend the throne years ago—and that man was exactly her master who had been with her day and night. When the blade of revenge targets the imperial power and the estrangement between master and disciple is torn open, Rong Zhan finally confesses: "Don't panic, disciple. I failed to protect your family back then, but now I will protect you." Court conspiracies and unspoken love all ferment in this counterattack—turns out the most touching protection is never the promise of "Master is here," but the courage to overthrow a dynasty for you.
