Shen Aman, the feisty leader of Qingliang Mountain’s bandits, hates nothing more than being called “unrefined.” When the imperial court threatens to crush her stronghold, she defiantly decides to surrender and become an official! Enter Rong Jingheng, the icy imperial envoy, who mocks her “banditry” and thwarts her at every turn. Undeterred, Shen marches into the county yamen with her broadsword, taking down corrupt officials while trading barbs with Rong. But she soon uncovers his secrets: he’s secretly shielded her from assassins, and he’s the late emperor’s orphan plotting to dethrone the usurper! As the “wild bandit” collides with the “calculating statesman,” their rivalry blooms into partnership—and love. Together, they navigate the treacherous court, defend the realm, and realize: the sweetest love is standing by each other—whether it’s going from bandit to official, or challenging the throne side by side.
