Modern ER doctor Lin Xia accidentally travels back to the Three Kingdoms period while reading ancient medical books late at night. She has to take over the identity of "Hua Tuo"—the real Hua Tuo just passed away—but is mocked by peers for "not knowing ancient techniques." On her first day, she saves Fourth Prince Murong Jue, who's critically injured with an arrow through his shoulder and on the run, using modern first aid. Murong Jue mistakes her for "Hua Tuo reincarnated." To survive, Lin Xia pretends to be the "divine doctor": curing a military plague, detoxifying the emperor's chronic poison, solving a "zombie" mystery, and gradually becoming the recognized "living divine doctor" in the court and among the people. Along the way, Murong Jue goes from doubting her identity to being drawn to her courage and intelligence; Lin Xia, originally wanting to return to the modern world, now wishes to stay with him to protect the kingdom. But a powerful minister exposes her as a "fake" and accuses her of deceiving the emperor—Murong Jue smiles and pulls out an imperial edict: "I knew you weren't Hua Tuo long ago. The one I want to marry is Lin Xia, who dares to confront powerful ministers with a scalpel." It turns out he saw through her "difference" early on, just to protect her true heart. Finally, they overthrow the minister together. Lin Xia improves ancient medicine with modern knowledge, Murong Jue becomes a benevolent emperor, and the sweet daily life of the "divine doctor and emperor" becomes a folk legend.
