Lin Zhixia, an agronomy graduate, returns to a poor village on her grandfather’s last wish. Upon arrival, she finds thousands of acres of rice fields on the brink of failure due to drought; the village chief is about to apply for returning farmland to forests, while a neighboring village’s merchant is eyeing the land for development. She saves the crops with improved drought-resistant seeds and intelligent irrigation tech. Along the way, she clashes with Gu Yan, a tech company president here for rural research, before they team up. She exposes the merchant’s sabotage, turns the village into an agricultural demonstration site, wins over all doubters, and gains both a thriving career and a sweet romance.
