Awu is the village's top sheep butcher, but clan elders forced him to hang up his knife, accusing him of excessive slaughter of over 80 sheep and bringing heavy resentment. When the village chief prepared the crucial banquet, he ignored Awu's reminder and used others' sheep—only to have all the banquet meat go rotten. Panicked villagers begged Awu for help with gifts. Xiaoqing, a neighboring girl who has a crush on him, stood firmly by his side. Though still hurt by the past, Awu, with her trust and seeing villagers' anxiety, picked up his knife again to fix the crisis, earning respect and Xiaoqing's heart.
