Gu Wanyi, raised in a Qingcheng Mountain Taoist temple, is the Gu family’s true heiress who was swapped at birth. On her 18th birthday, the Gu family arrives—their fake daughter Gu Rou is haunted by a fierce ghost. Reluctantly, she descends the mountain per her master’s order to “settle mortal ties”. At the Gu household, Gu Rou mocks her as a “country wild girl” and her parents are cold, but when Gu Wanyi summons a green-faced ghost to tear apart the evil spirit缠着 Gu Rou, everyone is stunned—only Jiang Lie, a detective investigating a serial disappearance case, notices her red fingertips and hands her warm ginger tea: “Controlling ghosts drains yang energy; don’t overdo it.” But Gu Wanyi never expects Gu Rou’s “haunting” is self-staged, even framing her for the serial case; nor does she expect Jiang Lie’s “concern” is already love—this tough man has long wanted to guard her warmth in this mortal world.
