In the 1980s, Lin Wan, a rural girl, became the target of gossip after her engagement was broken off. Desperate, she worked as a helper at the state-run "Fulaiju" restaurant in the city, but accidentally offended Gu Yancheng, who was pretending to be a chef. This seemingly cynical man is actually the son of a military commander, secretly investigating a smuggling case involving the restaurant. With her family's pickles and cooking skills, Lin Wan rose from a dishwasher to the restaurant's "star attraction". During this process, she and Gu Yancheng went from bickering to developing feelings for each other. However, when Gu Yancheng's identity was exposed, the mastermind behind the smuggling case turned out to be Lin Wan's ex-fiancé! Between budding love and the choice of justice, can they guard the warm food aroma of the 1980s and turn their lives into the sweetest counterattack?
