Shen Jiaojiao, leader of Qingzhu Mountain's bandits, has robbed the rich to help the poor with her father since childhood. She rescues a gravely injured scholar, Lu Zhao, during a robbery—only for him to say he’s going to the capital to take the imperial exam after waking up! Shen Jiaojiao mocks him for “a scholar from a bandit’s nest” but secretly hides his books and covers for him from her father. However, Lu Zhao is hunted repeatedly on his way to the exam. Shen Jiaojiao protects him with a knife through obstacles, only to learn this fragile scholar is the late emperor’s orphan—he’s taking the exam to uncover his family’s massacre and restore peace. When the “wild girl” leader meets the “pretending weak” orphan, they sweeten their bond amid swords and shadows. But a bigger twist looms: Shen Jiaojiao’s father’s old robbery is linked to Lu Zhao’s family’s death?
