Su Wan, the "Paper Butterfly Girl" from a capital paper workshop, is forced into the Prince's Mansion as a substitute for Prince Xiao Jingheng's late princess due to their striking resemblance. She seems fragile as paper on the surface, but is actually the only survivor of the wrongfully exterminated prime minister's family, hiding her identity to clear her family's name. However, Xiao Jingheng's tenderness goes beyond a mere "substitute"—he blocks assassins for her at night, secretly warms her frozen hands, and protects her when she investigates the case. When Su Wan nears the truth, she discovers he has long seen through her identity? The so-called "substitute" is actually his plan to bring her back? When the paper butterfly breaks free from its cocoon, is it the edge of revenge or the salvation of love?
