Ms. Dog's Punishment

Lin Xiaoman, nicknamed "Ms. Dog" in the old alley, defends her stray dog shelter against Zhou Ming, a developer bent on demolition. Zhou cuts water/electricity and steals the dogs to force her out, driving Xiaoman to confront him tearfully. But when she bursts into his office, she finds Zhou hugging a lame puppy—descendant of the stray that saved his childhood—and crying. It turns out Zhou’s real motive is to build a hospital for his dying mother, who missed the alley’s dog barks most. Xiaoman proposes a "pet-friendly commercial district" that saves both the dogs and his mother’s wish. What was supposed to be Zhou’s punishment for Xiaoman backfires—he has to help expand the shelter, feed the dogs daily, and cure his own "indifference disease."
