Lin Xiaoman, an ordinary illustrator, accidentally saves Gu Jingshen, a group president with a terminal illness who has only three months left. Knowing his situation, she hides her debt (from raising money for her mother's treatment) and spares no effort to accompany him in completing his bucket list—watching the sunrise by the sea, planting a memorial tree for both, and retrieving his childhood toy. But when Gu's condition worsens, he suddenly breaks up with her. It turns out he already knew Xiaoman was secretly selling paintings to make money, and didn't want to be a burden. When Xiaoman rushes to the hospital with the life-saving medicine she saved for half a year, she finds Gu holding the illustration of "Our Future" she drew, tears streaming: "I'm afraid that after I'm gone, you won't even have the strength to love yourself."
