Newly hired forensic trace technician Lin Zhan uses her extraordinary sensitivity to tiny traces to solve a series of bizarre cases labeled as "mystery cases" by the police. There are no witnesses or key murder weapons left at the crime scenes, only overlooked details like shoe prints, fiber scraps and dust trails that become her breakthroughs to tear through the fog. As the investigation deepens, she discovers every mysterious case hides clues to a bizarre mining disaster a decade ago, even involving a secret her mentor has hidden for years. Each case brings her closer to the bloody truth, and drags her into a deadly vortex.
