Struggling painter Lin Mo buys an anonymous ancient painting at a low price. Soon, he is haunted by the phantom of a Republic of China-era woman in his dreams, who begs him to finish her unfinished painting. Every stroke reveals a tragic suicide case of that era. As Lin Mo digs deeper, his friend disappears mysteriously and his ex-wife falls into danger. Eventually, he realizes he shares a cross-time fate with the woman—the phantom’s real purpose is to let him rewrite the lost tragedy, while a deeper conspiracy awaits him.
