Su Wan, a lonely spirit wandering by the River of Oblivion for a thousand years, has only one obsession: to find out who buried her there. She has no memory of her past life, only a half-piece of jade pendant she clutched tightly before death. Until Gu Zhao, a traveler holding the other half of the pendant, arrives—he is her former lover who has traversed countless reincarnations to find his "un-dead beloved". It turns out that in their past life, Su Wan died saving Gu Zhao, and Gu Zhao used half of his soul to bury her by the River of Oblivion, just to keep the promise of "meeting again in the next life". But the River’s rules are strict: no release from obsession, no reincarnation; half a soul lost, ultimate dissipation. They must not only uncover the final truth of the "burial" mystery but also make a life-or-death choice between "staying together" and "moving on to reincarnation"...
