A taciturn new tenant named Renye moves into a southern old-town apartment building. Neighbors gossip nonstop about him, spinning wild rumors: a debt-ridden businessman, a fugitive hiding from the law. When a left-behind kid is cornered and extorted by school bullies, Renye steps in to rescue him, then tracks down and takes down a mobile fraud gang operating nearby. The neighborhood finally realizes this aloof stranger has been quietly guarding their community all along.
