Detective Jin Yanqing immediately sees through the "suicide" cover-up, but this leads him to Ling Wei, a rookie reporter—her sister had "committed suicide" three years earlier holding the same Lycoris pendant. Convinced her sister’s death is linked to the "Lycoris curse," Ling Wei insists on teaming up with Jin to investigate. As they unravel the clues, they discover both Bai Die and Ling Wei’s sister had contact with a mysterious chamber of commerce, whose behind-the-scenes forces are using the "curse" to cover up a smuggling-related bloodbath. As the truth approaches, Jin’s desire to protect Ling grows stronger. But just as they are about to uncover the final layer of the mystery, the killer strikes first, pushing Ling toward the same "cursed" fate as her sister...
