Three-year-old Princess Xiaotang, the only daughter of the Emperor of Dajing, is as soft and cute as a running milk candy—but she’s become a “live target” in both the harem’s power struggles and the court’s political schemes. The noble consort wants to frame the empress by making her “accidentally fall,” while a powerful minister aims to adopt her as a goddaughter to control the government. However, this little milk baby, who seems only able to hold a rattle and ask for hugs, has a sharp mind: she pours the noble consort’s “tonic” into a goldfish tank and tilts her head to ask, “Why does Auntie’s candy make the fish sleep?” when the fish float belly-up. When the powerful minister holds her, she presses her cinnabar-stained hand on his cufflink, helping the emperor uncover clues to treasonous letters. The first time the cold-faced God of War prince holds her, Xiaotang tugs his beard and laughs, “Uncle’s beard is like Daddy’s writing brush!” melting the palace’s chill instantly. This milk-baby princess isn’t just a collective favorite—she’s Dajing’s “little lucky star,” smashing plots with her cuteness and turning sweetness into a shield of protection.
