Lin Chuan, a modern office worker regretful for not being with his late father, accidentally travels back to 1978 with his brother Lin Hao while touching a family heirloom pocket watch. Waking up, Lin Chuan becomes 20-year-old "Lin Jianguo"—his father's younger self—while his brother turns into 10-year-old "Lin Xiaochuan"—his own childhood self! Forced to play "father and son", Lin Chuan must care for "son" Lin Hao while trying to prevent his mother Su Xiaomei's accidental death back then. Lin Hao, suddenly a kid, has to go to primary school and deals with his former friends, leading to many laughs. More importantly, they discover his father's "disappearance" back then is tied to a factory secret, and their time travel might be his father's last wish. As they hide their identities and uncover family truths in the retro state-owned factory, they don't know every step rewrites their fate.
