Su Xiaonian, an urban white-collar worker, works overtime until late at night. Stranded with a dead phone and lost wallet, she gets a call from her mom: her grandma is dying and wants to see her one last time. Rushing to the bus stop, she meets Chen Mo, a ride-hailing driver about to end his shift. Chen Mo initially refuses the intercity ride but softens at her red, teary eyes, and starts the car. A rainstorm blocks the road, a tire blows out—stranded in the wilderness, they open up: Su Xiaonian admits she hadn’t dared take her grandma to work for three years because she thought she was “too country”; Chen Mo talks about his sister, who went missing ten years ago on this very road home. When Su Xiaonian pulls out the old photo her grandma gave her before passing, Chen Mo freezes—the little girl with pigtails in the photo is exactly the sister he’s been searching for?
