Su Wan, a recent graduate, hurries back to her rural hometown for her father's funeral, only to be bullied by her ambitious cousin Su Ming who seizes her dad's auto repair shop with outsiders. Su Ming slanders her as a "disgraceful daughter" and drives her away roughly. Desperate, she finds a forgotten ledger in her dad's old photo album, recording all Su Ming's crimes of embezzlement and will forgery. Su Wan rushes into the mourning hall and exposes his plot. Faced with irrefutable evidence and villagers' condemnation, Su Ming collapses to his knees crying in repentance.
