The 1940s Famine: My Hunting System Is a Cheat Code

In the early 1940s, Henan Province is devastated by famine. 18-year-old Chen Zhaodi loses her parents to starvation and fights wild dogs for tree bark, even eating edible clay which almost chokes her to death. One day, she risks going into the mountains for wild vegetables but stumbles into a wolf den—a dozen hungry wolves surround her, eyes glowing red. Huddled behind a tree, waiting for death, a mechanical voice suddenly booms in her mind: "Hunting System Bound Successfully!" She tries to summon, and a silenced hunting rifle appears in her hand out of thin air! She shoots the alpha wolf, carries its meat back to the village, and uses cornmeal exchanged via the system to save her dying nephew. But the system demands she "hunt 100 pounds of prey monthly" or it will be "recovered". While she uses traps to catch rabbits for food and helps villagers set electric fences against bandits, Kuomintang soldiers suddenly arrive to seize grain. The system pops up an "Ultimate Mission: Defend the Village Granary". Holding a newly exchanged submachine gun, watching the approaching soldiers, she panics—Is this system that summons modern weapons a savior... or a trap?
