Lin Xiaoman, a corporate slave, just suffered double blows—getting fired and catching her boyfriend cheating. She fled to the seaside B&B "Sugar Jar" to find peace, only to meet Gu Shiyan, a sarcastic B&B owner. He always boils pear candy in the morning, scolding her "even peeling shrimp is stupid" with sugar frost on his fingertips, but secretly puts her frozen hands into his pocket. She complains that he "is colder than an investment banker even though he sells sugar", but one sunny afternoon, she sees him squatting under an old locust tree, wrapping sugar papers for orphanage kids. It turns out Gu Shiyan's sugar is his grandma's legacy, and she is the first person daring enough to steal his sugar jar. When the holiday is ending, Lin Xiaoman realizes the sweetest sugar isn't pear candy—it's Gu Shiyan's tenderness hidden in sarcasm, and that kiss wrapped in warm sunlight.
