Zhou Xuan, the orphan of the Zhenguo General's Mansion, infiltrates the palace as a fake eunuch to avenge his family's massacre. He accidentally discovers the royal family maintains its rule by seizing fate from noble families using the "Fate Dragon Pearl". While currying favor with the昏庸 emperor Li Yu to gain trust, he sows discord among concubines and officials to destabilize the court—only to meet the cold and shrewd Empress Su Ningxue, who has long seen through his disguise. She offers a deal: "Help me overthrow the emperor, and I'll get you the pearl." The two, each with their own agendas, navigate the treacherous palace. But when they close in on the pearl, they uncover a bigger secret: the imperial court's fate was stolen from families like his in the first place… A game of seizing and反-seizing begins.
