Su Huayan, a female painter of the Da Ning Dynasty, inherits her ancestor’s mission to guard the *Thousand Li Rivers and Mountains Painting*, which holds the dynasty’s fate. On her way to deliver the painting, she meets Gu Zhao, a Beimo assassin disguised as a down-and-out scholar—his task is to destroy the painting and cut off Da Ning’s fortune.
