Shen Zhixia, an antique restorer, runs the "Moon in the Mirror" shop in an old alley. One day, a mysterious tenant Lin Shen moves in—he can read the inscriptions on the ancient mirrors she restores. Late at night, while polishing a Han Dynasty bronze mirror, Shen suddenly sees visions of her past life: she was a silk-washing girl by the river, and Lin Shen was a frontier general. They promised to "admire the river moon together when I return," but war tore them apart forever. When a crescent birthmark identical to the general's appears on Lin Shen's cuff, Shen begins to wonder: Is he the same person from her past? Can the moon over the river, which has shone for a thousand years, witness their reunion in this life?
