Lin Wan, an ancient book restorer, accidentally unlocks the Forbidden Codex Pavilion—where each page of the "Books of Fate" can alter reality, but at the cost of the user’s memories—all to save her terminally ill sister. She uses the pages repeatedly to extend her sister’s life, yet gradually forgets what her sister looks like. Gu Shen, the pavilion’s guardian, tries to stop her, hiding the pain of losing his lover after using the books himself years ago. When Lin Wan opens the book for the last time, she faces her sister’s smile and her own blank memory book—her choice was never "to save or not," but "to remember the one she loves most or not."
