A Li, a thousand-year-old pear blossom fairy on Pear Mountain, guards the "Spirit Pear Root"—a treasure that can resurrect the dead—living in seclusion to avoid trouble. Until Xiao Qi, a young emperor seeking medicine for his dying mother, breaks into her sanctuary. He doesn’t want the root to consolidate his reign; he just wants his mother to see another spring. A Li intends to drive him away, but her heart softens when he shields her from falling rocks and brews medicine for her late at night. However, a power-hungry minister invades to steal the root and blackmail Xiao Qi into abdicating.
