A Li, a thousand-year-old pear blossom fairy on Pear Mountain, guards the "Spirit Pear Root"—a treasure that can resurrect the dead—living in seclusion to avoid trouble. Until Xiao Qi, a young emperor seeking medicine for his dying mother, breaks into her sanctuary. He doesn’t want the root to consolidate his reign; he just wants his mother to see another spring. A Li intends to drive him away, but her heart softens when he shields her from falling rocks and brews medicine for her late at night. However, a power-hungry minister invades to steal the root and blackmail Xiao Qi into abdicating. A Li is gravely injured protecting him and suddenly recalls her past life: she was once Xiao Qi’s wife, who died taking an assassin’s sword for him, and reincarnated as a fairy to guard him. Together, they defeat the villain. A Li uses half the root to save the empress dowager, and Xiao Qi abandons his imperial ambitions to stay with her on Pear Mountain, planting pear blossoms. From then on, "the kingdom" is the snow in her hair, and "the world" is the fireworks they guard together.
