In the chaos of war, Ning Zhibai, a healer, boards a train to gather life-saving herbs and accidentally saves Duan Yanze, a young marshal targeted for assassination. On the brink of death, Duan recognizes her as the “little bodhisattva” who gave him half a pancake when he was starving as a child. After recovering, he storms her door with a gun to force a marriage—he wants to lock his savior by his side forever. But Ning is determined to wander the war zones to heal more people, refusing to be a caged bird. When bullets of war graze their noses, and when her ideal of healing the world clashes with his possessive love, can that half-warm pancake become the hottest pact of life and death for them in the turmoil?
