Three years after her breakup with ex-boyfriend Lu Ye, Su Wan returns to their old apartment to sort through his leftover belongings. She finds an old lighter engraved with their names, still faintly warm. She once thought Lu Ye abandoned her for his career, but never knew he’d suffered a leg injury saving her from the fire that burned down his noodle shop, and left town to pay her medical bills. Now a familiar fire truck siren blares downstairs, and she spots her ex in firefighter gear holding a hot milk tea outside her window—he never left, and his love has lingered in the embers for three whole years.
