Lin Zhan, a female scavenger in post-apocalyptic ruins, finds a critically injured mysterious man, Gu Zhao, by an incinerator—he wears a silver ring inscribed with "Jin" (Ashes) and clutches half a burnt wedding invitation. She initially plans to trade him for food, but is touched by the hairpin he makes from scrap copper and his gentle stare at the invitation late at night. When warlord pursuers destroy her hut, Gu Zhao confesses: he broke into the forbidden zone to find his missing bride, and the jade lock around Lin’s neck is identical to the bride’s keepsake... When warmth in ashes meets a执念 transcending life and death, can they forge their own "joy" in the doomsday?
