Beijing drifter Jing Chu travels to Hong Kong as a tutor, desperate to save her mother with stomach cancer—only to stumble into a three-year scheme by Hong Kong tycoon He Xingzhi. This man, who controls half of Hong Kong’s elite circle, goes mad for her, even willing to be a “third wheel.” He cuts off her escape routes with business tactics while holding stomach medicine at midnight, whispering, “I just want to be with you.” When the life-saving money becomes a chain, and “tutor” turns into a “caged bird,” Jing Chu realizes: what she’s fleeing isn’t just a man, but a “past” trap with a pre-written ending.
