Lin Xiaoman, an exhausted office worker, picks up an injured "fox" on her way home from an all-night shift. To her shock, it’s Bai Jiu, a thousand-year-old nine-tailed fox fairy—she’s been wounded by a villain and must bind to a human host to regain power, and Lin is the unlucky "chosen one." Since then, Lin’s life is in chaos: Bai Jiu steals her bed, drinks her milk tea, and even turns her work documents into fox fur with magic. But when Lin is bullied by her boss or surrounded by debt collectors, Bai Jiu suddenly appears, wrapping her tail around Lin and saying, "No one hurts my person." As they grow closer, Lin discovers Bai Jiu’s injury hides a past-life secret—and she’s been tied to this fox long before.
