Lin Xiaomei, a modern supermarket owner, was tallying stock late at night when she suddenly traveled back to a famine era—with her entire store—possessing Zhou Xiulan, a farmer’s wife abused to the brink of death by her mother-in-law. The original Zhou worked dawn to dusk but starved, and her son was beaten for stealing a crumb of bread. Lin grabs a broom, kicks out the bullying mother-in-law and lazy brother-in-law, uses her supermarket’s supplies to fend off greedy villagers, and discovers her quiet hunter husband Gu Yan had hidden wild rabbit meat for her. She opens a “time-travel supermarket,” teaches villagers to grow vegetables and make pickles, builds a brick house with her family, and turns famine into an enviable life. Mess with her? Prepare for a broom to the face!
