When photographer Gu Zhao bursts into the studio, his camera captures catkins landing on the painting’s scroll, and he blurts out: "I’ve heard the rain in this painting." It turns out Gu Zhao is searching for his missing grandmother’s keepsake, and the grandmother was the one who had a rendezvous with Xiaoman’s grandfather in the misty rain decades ago—war made them miss each other for a lifetime.
