Lin Wan, a folk custom documentary director, returns to her hometown, the Valley of Weeping Brides, to film the lost crying wedding ritual, only to be repeatedly blocked by Gu Shen, the valley guardian. The valley has a legend that "the spirit of weeping brides haunts intruders," but Lin Wan discovers Gu Shen's stubbornness hides a deeper secret: his sister disappeared on her wedding night ten years ago, and her unworn red wedding dress still hangs in the old ancestral hall. As they grow closer, Lin Wan not only records the orally transmitted "Weeping Wedding Lyrics" from the elderly but also uncovers Gu Shen's guilt—he didn't see his sister off because of a fight back then. When morning mist shrouds the valley, the sister's voice suddenly echoes from the mountain stream, as if making up for the regret of the past and fulfilling a redemption and love that's ten years late.
