Lin Xiaoman, a cultural relic restorer, finds an ancient jade hairpin engraved with "Deer Call" among her grandfather's relics. Hidden inside is half an old map leading to a remote southwest mountain—the place where her grandfather suddenly retreated decades ago. To solve the mystery, she ventures into the mountains alone, accidentally breaking into a wild deer protection station and meeting Gu Shen, a gruff forest ranger. As they trace the clues, they discover her grandfather and Gu Shen's father once fought poachers to protect the endangered Chinese spotted deer. Now, poachers have returned, targeting the ancient jade mine under the deer's habitat. When the deer's call echoes again in the mountains, it's both a warning and a calling: Xiaoman seeks her grandfather's past, Gu Shen defends his father's legacy, and their fates, bound by the "Deer Call," force them to heal old wounds, guard the deer, and find love amid danger.
