After his wife passed away, 73-year-old Chen Shouyi lives alone as an empty nester. His son and daughter-in-law are busy working in Shenzhen and rarely visit, even skipping the Spring Festival to make ends meet. His meager pension is targeted by health product scammers, and his old heating pipe suddenly bursts. Refusing to succumb to fate, he fixes the pipe with his old fitter skills, then teams up with other scammed seniors in the community to collect evidence and call the police. He recovers his losses and helps establish a senior mutual aid group, living with unyielding pride.
